Leeds United supporters are drooling on Twitter for Joe Gerhardt’s performance as he shines for the U23s this afternoon.
The 18-year-old scored a hat-trick in Leeds’ 5-0 win over West Bromwich Albion U23s.
Mark Jackson’s Leeds U23s sit at the top of the Premier League 2 table with 13 points and are one step closer to promotion in their first season.
A number of senior Leeds United players were involved, including returning from injury Robin Koch and Gaetano Berardi, as well as Ian Poveda.
In addition to Gelhardt’s hat-trick, Crysencio Summerville and Sam Greenwood also scored, as Leeds Live Report.
Here’s how some white fans reacted to Gelhardt’s performance, which was an impressive win for Leeds:

love from wigan
Gerhardt’s U23 goals tally reached 11, and it’s been an excellent season for the young striker.
He signed for Leeds United from Wigan Athletic in August, where he rose from academy to establish himself in the Rutts first team.
Gerhardt made 21 appearances for Wigan in the season before his move to Elland Road, his third in the Championship.
Then, Wigan manager Paul Cook came close to pitting Gail Hart against his future staff when he was named on the bench for the Tics’ 0-1 loss to Leeds United.
Wigan slumped into Serie A amid the financial crisis, while Marcelo Bielsa’s side ascended to the Premier League as champions.
Gerhardt comes with them, but has yet to get a taste of the top action.

Opportunities in Leeds are few and far between
Bielsa’s main goal is to keep Leeds United in a department they’ve been desperately trying to achieve for so long.
That means using fringe and youth players like Gerhardt isn’t worth the risk.
Using the England U18 international is also not an option due to Patrick Bamford’s form.
With 14 goals in all competitions, Bamford is far ahead of Leeds United’s top scorer and unmatched in Bielsa’s system.
Goldhardt is getting closer
With 13 points from the relegation zone and nine games remaining, the Yorkshiremen can now start to relax.
This could mean valuable minutes for Gerhardt in the first team.
He has been unused for six league games in 2020/21 as he gets closer to his Premier League shots.
